The island of Cozumel lies just twelve miles off the Yucatan Coast, a 45 minute ferry ride from the famed Riviera Maya. There is only a four or five degree variance between winter and summer temperatures in Cozumel, with winter highs in the mid 80's °F and summer highs around 90°F. August through October is the rainy season.

Civil ceremonies are the only ones recognized in Mexico, no residential requirements are applicable. Marriages are performed at the Civil Registrar's office for a fee (can range from $100 - $250 in resort areas).
