Fox World Travel School Curriculum
Introduction to Travel and Tourism
Covers the history, scope and functions of the industry, provides an understanding of and skills in: constructing itineraries; utilizing resources and reference material, calculating airfares, domestic and international ticketing; reservations for accommodations, cruises, tours and car rentals.
Domestic and International Geography
The focus is on primary tourist attractions and business cities, airline codes, pertinent history and culture, demographics and documentation required. The geography is presented from the perspective of the travel agents responsibilities. Geographical areas covered are the Americas, Europe, Caribbean, Asia, Africa, Pacific and Atlantic regions.
Sales
This portion of the class will give you the opportunity to learn from the perspective of travel professionals involved in selling travel on a daily basis. Also covers the functions of selling corporate travel to businesses from an outside sales perspective. Specific telephone and personal one-on-one selling techniques will be provided. Students learn how to deal with customers, ethical questions and functions of marketing the business.
Computerized Reservations and Ticketing with Apollo
This hands-on course provides an understanding of the computerization functions of the industry. Covers the concepts and skills required to provide airfares, interpret and modify availability, sell air space and create reservations. You will obtain the skills to price itineraries, issue tickets and make hotel and car rental reservations on Focalpoint.
