Céad míle fáilte! A hundred thousand welcomes… Upon clearing immigration and customs procedures, meet your driver/guide and awaiting coach.  Relax for the afternoon or take a trip along Dublin Bay to visit Malahide Castle, one of the oldest and most historic castles in Ireland.  From 1185 until 1975, it was the home of the Talbot family.  This was a remarkable tenure by a single family and is one of the longest in Ireland. In 1169, at the time of the Anglo-Norman invasion, Malahide was under the control of Hammund Mac Turkill, the last Viking King of Dublin. A visit to Malahide Castle is so much more than just a tour; it is an engaging and truly memorable experience and is guaranteed to be one of the highlights of your visit to Dublin. Tonight enjoy a welcome dinner with your travelling companions.

Day 3 - September 24 - TOUR HISTORIC DUBLIN (B)

This morning join your local guide for a tour of Dublin including a drive along statue-lined O’Connell Street and past the General Post Office, scene of the 1916 Easter Uprising.  It was here that the Proclamation of Independence was read before the building was gutted in battle.  We drive around some of Dublin’s elegant Georgian squares before a view of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and a visit to Trinity College Library to see the 8th century Book of Kells. A visit to the Jameson Distillery tells us about the history and distilling process of the famous drink. End the tour at the bar for a taste! Arrive back at the hotel where the balance of the day is at leisure. This evening on your Musical Pub Crawl, listen to some of Irelands favorite tunes, learn the story of Irish music and its influences in World Music all the while having a few drinks (paid on own) in some of Dublin’s most popular pubs.

Ireland

Day 4 - September 25 - DUBLIN (B)

The day is at leisure in Dublin with use of a Hop-on, Hop-off bus ticket to explore. Visit Dublin’s historic buildings and experience its vibrant nightlife. Valid for 24 hours, there is plenty of time to see the sights as you hop on and hop off at 20 stops around the city. Your hotel is located within easy walking distance of shopping, pubs and the popular Temple Bar area. The evening is free to experience lively Dublin!

Ireland

Day 5 - September 26 - DUBLIN/CORK/KILLARNEY (B,D)

Your journey takes you from Dublin to Blarney.  Stop for a visit to Blarney Castle, one of Ireland's oldest and most historic castles, an ancient stronghold of the McCarthy's, and one of the strongest fortresses in Munster. Climb to the top of the battlement for the opportunity to kiss the famous Blarney Stone said to give the gift of eloquence for a kiss. Wander through the Blarney Woolen Mills to shop for fine Irish handicrafts.  Travel on to Killarney where tonight dinner is at a local pub.

Accommodation: Killarney Plaza Hotel or similar for three nights

Ireland

Day 6 - September 27 - KENMARE, BANTRY & GARNISH ISLAND (B)

Stroll around the quaint artist village of Kenmare, situated on the mouth of the River Sheen. Then enjoy breathtaking vistas as you journey to Glengarriff where you board a local boat and set out on the short journey to Garnish Island. Also known as Ilnacullin, this small island was transformed into an exotic garden in 1910 by Harold Peto.  Framed by views of Bantry Bay, the gardens are landscaped with neo-classical follies and planted with rich subtropical flora. An added attraction of the boat trip to this Gulf Stream paradise is the chance to see cavorting seals in Bantry Bay.

Ireland

Day 7 - September 28 - KILLARNEY (B,D)

A full day excursion will take you through "Heaven’s Reflex", one of Ireland’s loveliest districts.  The road that winds around the spectacular Iveragh Peninsula is better known as the Ring of Kerry. It is undoubtedly one of the most magical places in all Ireland where bogs, mountains, valleys, lakes and sea blend into a landscape that is often breathtaking beyond words.   Even the names of the towns seem to whisper their beauty: Cahirciveen, Glenbeigh, Killorglin and Sneem.  A jaunting car will take us for a ride through Killarney National Park where the scenery mixed with the amazing Irish wit and commentary of the driver makes this a highlight of the day. Tonight dinner is included at your hotel.

Day 8 - September 29 - KILLARNEY/DUBLIN (B,D)

Leave Killarney this morning, crossing the Shannon on the Tarbert Ferry. Continue on to the amazing Cliffs of Moher, one of the most magnificent sites in County Clare. We explore some of the six miles of dark, rough-hewn cliffs that plunge into the Atlantic from heights of up to 668ft. From its vantage point, we can see the Clare coastline, the Aran Islands, and mountains as far apart as Kerry and Connemara.
