Featuring wide decks, panoramic windows, and a light-filled, central atrium, Monarch of the Seas underwent a stem to stern renovation in 2003. As part of the Sovereign Family of ships, it's still an industry leader in the realm of family-friendly activities and innovative public areas, which include nine bars and lounges, an open-air basketball court, and Royal Caribbean's signature rock climbing wall.

Monarch of the Seas' two large swimming pools are situated on the ship's sundeck and are flanked by rows of inviting deck chairs and a sumptuous pool bar serving frosty tropical concoctions. The ShipShape Fitness Center and Spa offers state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a large aerobics area with wraparound windows, and pampering body treatments. Active passengers may also wish to log miles on the ship's jogging track, practice their dunk on the basketball court, or take to the ropes on the signature rock-climbing wall. If you want to relax, catch a movie in the ship's cinema. If you've promised gifts to friends at home, you'll find a wide range of boutiques for shopping or just browsing.

The ship's main dining rooms combine the glamour of a cosmopolitan restaurant with the flawless service of a tightly run ship. The casual, open-air Windjammer Cafe offers buffet-style meals for breakfast and lunch. Additional choices include Jade sushi bar, a gourmet pizza station, and a sit-down coffee and ice cream parlor featuring Seattle's Best Coffee drinks and Ben & Jerry's ice cream. In the evening, experience the glitz and special effects of professional stage productions. Taste the excitement in the casino, or dance the night away at the Ain't Misbehavin' Nightclub. Teen-only hangouts include the Fuel disco and The Living Room coffee bar.
